I got 3 responses to my query about problems booting FreeBSD 2.1-RELEASE
from a floppy after installing a card containing a SIIG enhaced disk BIOS.

Can you ID the chipset on the SIIG card?
there are some problem with the UMC?? chip that are broken.

i suspect a corrupted floppy. re-make the floppy (using RAWRITE) from
the original boot disk image.

did you do a warm boot (Ctrl-Alt-Del) or cold (reset button or
power-up)? i've noticed DOS 6+ doing funny things to boot sectors, and
decreasing BIOS' idea of available memory from 640k to 638k or less.

But, the real answer is that it just does not work with versions of FreeBSD
prior to 2.1.5, the 2.1.5 and 2.1.6 floppies boot just fine!

I had similar problems with 2.1.0, but the problem disappeared with 2.1.5.
You might want to try a newer release.
