Confusing? WinNT runs most of the old Win3.1 apps (except very
machine (low level dependent) ones), FreeBSD runs most of the
old Linux apps (except for the low level dependent ones.) There
might be some cases where (FreeBSD, WinNT) will run code
for (Linux, Win3.1), a bit more slowly. However, under load,
the replacements (WinNT, FreeBSD) will win out. The correspondence
isn't exact, because even older versions of FreeBSD aren't as
nearly as slow as WinNT. (WinNT, FreeBSD) encompass the
API's of (Win3.1, Linux) as subsets.
