Make sure that only the last drive on the *physical* chain is terminated, and that the controller is terminated (assuming no external drives)... automatic mode on the controller ought to work. Try jumpering the drives for staggered-start... the power surge of them all spinning up simultaniously may be causing a problem, or your power supply may simply be too weak. -Matt
