This parameter is interface-type specific and I am not sure what effect it is supposed to have on we0 but in my case it was causing a real slow-down for incoming TCP traffic. The fix is to remove "link1" from the ifconfig execution. My thanks to Kees and the other people who tried to help.. Carlos
