The August release of Andrew User Interface System was binary only.

Yet, they offer binaries for Linux, which can now run pretty good
under FreeBSD (I used the 3.0, but I think, the linux_lib-2.3 port
can be installed on FreeBSD-2.2 as well).

After the linux-lib port is installed, installation of AUIS is
pretty straight-forward -- just read their README file(s)...
