I was talking about adding an account in an easy way (and vipw doesn't count for me). Writing a script is too difficult for a novice, agreed? Now tell me a good reason why every user should have to go and search the FAQs or the Internet to find an adduser script he can use instead of one coming with NetBSD as standard. The same applies for a decent shell and a decent editor, at least for some ports you still have to go and get the source in the hope that it will compile without problems. > No, FAQs are there just for that. I doubt that every install text even mentions where the BSD FAQ can be found. That's the most important thing for NetBSD IMHO: To document more things. Everybody takes so many things as granted if he knows them but others can get stuck just because they are missing this little bit of information, eg. where they can find a FAQ, how to make a dialup connection to the net, whatever. In short, all the things you find in the handbooks for commercial software. So long, Markus
