Not really. There are a few offerings. They aren't Word, I'll
agree, but they are free, and you seem to think its the other
way around.

Not all of us, but writing drivers is a major part of the
business. Don't try to kid yourself.

Only from an academic pov. From a commercial stand, probably
not. Maybe, but I'm guessing not so.

If you think NT is bull* you have your head in the sand.
I love unix too, but you seem to be making an argument for
keeping the entire realm of computing into the hands of
us priveleged few who know our way around nfs, emacs, gnu,
awk, sed, etc... forget it. The world will mow you down,
pass you by, leave you for dead, and not shed a tear.
There will be no end to this 'bull*'. I am very thankful
that I for one am quite comfortable with MFC and Java.
