I was wondering if BSDI has multi-processing capability, and if it could be used to make an Intel multi-processor machine as fast for network use as say, one of the better HP machines running HP-UX 10? Is there somewhere where I can find info about this and what kind of set-up to use for multi-processing? Does anyone sell these kinds of machines pre-loaded with the BSDI operating system? When BSDI comes out for the PowerPC, is that first release expected to be capable of multi-processing? How good is multi-processing (in general) with chips like the PowerPC? I heard there might be some problems with multi-processing the PowerPC in that the chip itself doesn't support multi-processing as well as the Pentium. Are there any other platforms that might be supported by BSDI like HPs and Suns? What are the ``academic'' prices of the BSDI operating system like? Thanks, Richard.
