Don't forget, however, the one deteriming factor in what WP a person will most likely choose... ease of use. These packages, as far a freeware goes, are pretty decent, but for someone like myself, it's much faster to use a WYSIWYG based WP like MS Word, or WordPerfect than to try to implant a series of formatting codes, compile the ASCII file to DVI, and then convert that DVI document into PS. LyX is _almost_ WYSIWYG, but not enough to suit an office environment.
