(Easy shot, I know...) I'll start by saying that I cant stand most MS products (if you can call them that, sometimes). In an office where *every* one else uses W95, I'm the only one who avoids it as much as possible (OK I have 2 PCs - the laptop has all the W95 gunk). That said, I'll say that MS Word is an excellent word processor for a power user. In other words, it's the kitchen sink for word processing, just as FreeBSD (or Unix in general) is the kitchen sink for programmer productivity. I'm not sure if I phrased that right, but someone will understand :-) And no, I havent used any word processors on any Unix that I use - maybe I'll give them a shot as time permits. But I suspect the better ones are not free (like Wordperfect), and I wont be allowed to buy it ("Hey - you want 2 PCs because you wont do what we all do, and then you want to BUY software for it!"). Constructive flames (like pointers to good, WYSIWIG wps that are also free, and yes - I'm going to try LyX tomorrow) welcome. Sitaram
