  Howdy,

   I have a Gateway 2000/32meg/Mach64/FreeBSD 2.1.5 that always
crashes at X initialization . Been thru the faqs..played with various
configurations..talked to Gateway..result starting ANY Xserver crashes
the machine. I've installed a Jatong S3 clone that also crashes the
machine. This card runs fine at home with the same configuration in a
586-133. So I'm guessing the problem is with X initialization over
writing the kernel or some such thing. Anybody got any clues how to
solve this. ? I've been waiting for the 3.2 alpha release and
installed that yeterday...same problem. Didn't really expect that to
work since this was under the 2.1.6-tree.

I plan to upgrade to 2.2 very soon now...so if anyone has 32meg,
gateway 2000 and a Mach64 please pass on your configuration..
or recommend a video card that works in this box!

ie LFB setting in CMOS with memory settings
PnP config( doubt this is it ).
the /etc/XF86Config file and the version
      of Xfree/FreeBSD you are running...

TIA, tim( surrounded by NT weenies ).
