Wordperfect for Linux is $250, and includes Motif.
Word (full retail) is $200.
You can get Applixware (office suit) for $199
Or with a student discount: $70
You can get StarOffice (office suite) for free for personal use.
You can get LyX for free (I use it, and I love it)
You can get SciTeXt for free (I haven't used it in a while, but I've
heard it's improving)
So what are exactly the enormously more expensive alterfnatives?
Is $0 too much for you, or you just didn't even bother looking?
