i have my mac connected to one of my serial ports of my
dell dimension running 2.1.5 through a null modem cable.

i set up the /dev/ttys as in the faq with the line:

ttyd0 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" vt100 on secure

on the mac side i'm using clarisworks 2.1 to talk (which works
fine when i'm talking to my modem i.e. atdt 1234567 does what it
should but that's with a straight thru cable)

ps shows this, but the mac doesn't seem to hear anything
8 bits no parity 1 stop bit 9600baud

root 171 0.0 0.0 156 0 ?? IW 3:21PM 0:00.01
/usr/libexec/getty std.9600 ttyd0

i could use some advice on how to debug this further?
