Am I missing something or is : this normal usenet usage ? Sounds a bit low. I get normally 4GB/day just in alt/binaries/pictures* and 1-2GB/day just in alt/binaries/warez*. Because of this, these groups are only kept a couple of days. Add an average of 2GB/day if you don't honor cancels. I carry about 24,500 newsgroups in a 32GB partition and really need to add another 32GB... You need lots of inodes too. We average 57,000 articles per day just in control/cancel. You need to decide how long you will keep what. Then can compute your disk space requirements.
