Thus enter lndir! :-) Right, I grasp that much. :-) What I'm still confused about is why the handbook says to create a new directory, symlink /usr/ports to it, and then lndir /usr/ports/ to /cdrom/ports. Doesn't make sense to me. If I lndir /cdrom/ports /usr/ports, won't /usr/ports be a writeable directory? So why the additional linking suggested in the handbook?
