I've tried just about everything to get tip to place an outgoing call
to another box via my internal modem. The modem is configured
correctly (I can dial out manually). I've fooled around with
/etc/modems and /etc/remote for 3 hours
(using various setting of modem init/reset flags, as well as
different settings in the modems file for things like
'intercommand_delay' and 'reset_delay'. Nothing seems to work.
Is there any special config requirements that I should place onto my
modem in order for tip to work.
Once tip tries to start, after the reset timeouts I hear static on my
modem and then get 5 consecutive messages 'timeout waiting for reply'.
Then tip exits. I do not hear any dialtone or dialing. About 3
hours ago I did get one digit to dial, but by now I've totally
forgotten the exact setup that I had at that time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
