I'd like to set up a webserver that gains internet access via my ISP.
I plan to have lotsa server-side processing via cgi and ??? It would
be easy to choose NT4.0, especially because I would have more
server-side processing options than cgi, but I thought perhaps the
performance of freebsd might make it possible to get away with a
smaller, less expensive box. So...

Can anyone characterize the relative performance of freebsd vs. NT
with a handful of concurrent web users, especially in the areas of
memory consumption, cpu%, webserver throughput, and cgi overhead?

Also, can you run Java programs/servlets in any way under freebsd?
