The connecting PC is a Windows machine. Perhaps my explanation wasn't clear. I have: PC(Windows)---ppp---(My Dialin Site)---(My router)---T1---Digex (nameservers). If I dialup from the PC and login to MDS, then run Netscape or FTP I get 'host not found' errors if I use names. It works ok with IP addresses. If I dialup form the PC, login to MDS and telnet to MDS then I can ftp to other sites on the Internet using names. So nameservice works from MDS but not from the PC. Also, if dialup another access provider (namely Dukenet), run Netscape, hang up the line and dial MDS I can continue to use Netscape with names. Anyway, its all a bit moot now since I added the line 'enable msext' to my ppp.conf and it now seems to work, but I sure would like an explanation. Thanks Charlie Reese
