You will always feel like a poor second cousin to Sparc Solaris.
Even Sun don't bother to port their apps to x86.

If your applications run on Openserver5 then it is a great
cost-effective platform. Very stable, doesn't take a kernel
hacker to support it. Also take a look at SCO Unixware. But 
I would mostly decide on an application first, and then look
for hardware & an OS to support it.
