I installed FreeBSD 2.1.5.-release with the PAO-960831 patches on a
DEC Hinote Ultra CT450, and while the ethernet card works great, I'm
having a lot of trouble getting an adaptec slimscsi 1460 to do anything
useful.

The devices on the SCSI bus, a Sony CDY-76S cd-rom drive and an Iomega zip
drive both get autodetected fine, but attempting to mount the cd-rom
drive results in timeout errors from the aic driver, and attempts to
configure the zip drive result in errors like
"ILLEGAL REQUEST asc:24,0 Invalid field in CDB", and when I try reading from
it the process just hangs.

All this hardware works fine under Win95. Is the problem in the aic
controller?
