I had originally installed a NE1000 compatiable card in the FreeBSD machine but never got that to work at all. So I swapped cards from a client and the FreeBSD machine and the NE1000 worked fine in the client and the NED2000 works only in the FreeBSD machine after being accessed by something else followed by a warm boot. I guess I'll just have to get another network card. Are software-only configurable cards likely to cause more trouble in FreeBSD?
