It will perform similarily to other NCR cards.  I've heard that it
performs
similarily to comparable Adaptec cards.  I can't comment on the 2940UW,
having
never used one.

Any PCI system should support the card.  Your system must have the
Symbios (NCR)
SCSI BIOS extensions in order to boot off of such a controller.  Lots of 
systems have this feature - you can also purchase a similar card (though
not
from ASUS that has the BIOS installed on the card.

I have two FreeBSD systems, running 2.2-ALPHA and 2.2-BETA that work
fine with
the ASUS SC200 controllers.  Previous releases also perform well.
