Hi !
I have new motherboard (Gigabyte GA-586HX) and have the problem
that the system won't come up on boot time. The system is
2.1.6R (on 2.1.5R I got a panic erroron the same step: swapper.
After this I upgraded the system to 2.1.6R)
and there are two cards in the board: an ADAPTEC 2940UA and a
S3-Video-card (both PCI). In the BIOS I gave them the possibility
to grab 2 IRQs. This seemed to work. In the bootup I can see
that both get the INT A, I don't know if this matters.
When I'm using the kernel-option -cv the last rows of output are:

Device configuration finished.
Considering FFS root f/s.
changing root device to sd0a.
Configuring root and swap devs.
configure() finished.
BIOS Geometries:
 0: 0102fe3f 0..258=259 cylinders, 0..254=255 heads, 1..63=63 sectors
 1: 0082fe3f 0..130=131 cylinders, 0..254=255 heads, 1..63=63 sectors
 2: 0102fe3f 0..390=391 cylinders, 0..254=255 heads, 1..63=63 sectors
 0 allocated for
sd0s1: type 0x6, start 63, end = 2056319, size 2056257 : OK
sd0s2: type 0xa5, start 2056320, end = 4160834, size 2104515 : OK

And now the system hangs.

So what to do ? Waiting until arrives here ? Is there a workaround ?
I really don't know what I can do...

Thanx for any help !

Bye,
	Udo
