There's an upgrade option at install time.  It essentially overwrites
the existing system, and attempts to merge /etc.  You'll end up with
about 10 files that you'll need to merge manually (things like sendmail.cf
etc).

If you go for this option and have /usr/src installed, I'd suggest moving
or removing it before doing the upgrade.  The upgrade doesn't remove
old files.  This may cause problems with the new way that the contrib
sources are built.
