My old 486DX with 16Mb of RAM and 1.2 GB HD under FreeBSD 2.1 serves as cache server (running Squid 1.1.5). From time to time machine hangs in strange way: processes running (machine pings OK, http cache is running) but any attempt to start new process fails (I think exec..() locks up). On console when I just press Enter new "Login:" appears. But if I enter login name, console hangs (getty execs login isn't it ?). What can I do with it ? Thanks in advance. Tim Kutergin.
