I have some machines running 2.1.5 and I want to upgrade these to 2.1.7

I run /stand/sysinstall and change the options to say 2.1.7-RELEASE and I
choose everything like distribution and media.

I then tell it to do an upgrade and it says it cannot backup /etc and then
it dies.

I do not want to boot off a separate floppy of at all possible as the
machines are not local to me and I don't want to go down where they are if
at all possible.

Is it possible to upgrade a running system without uising the floppy and
without manual intervention?

Thanks
Chad
