Hi,
 I think I had the same problem as yours. So try this:

   Boot BSD
   Go into the installation prg (/stand/sysinstall)
   Select installation (e.g. Novice)
   When it comes to the partition utility follow this:
	[...]

	[ ] wd0 IDE...
	[ ] wd1 IDE...

	select wd0 with space, select your FAT partition and press S (set
bootable) and Q (quit)
	choose the bootmgr. You should see [x] wd0 IDE... Then select wd1 with
space, select your BSD slice,
	press S, Q and choose the bootmgr. You should see this on you screen:
	[...]

	[x] wd0 IDE...
	[x] wd1 IDE...


   quit the installation and reboot, it should work (it worked for me)
