The issue with x2 and the FCC was a voltage and crosstalk issue, so USR may only be able to push 53k down (note: the FCC is *not* limiting USR to 53k, contrary to popular belief). USR modems are shipping now; go down to CompUSA or other computer-oriented store and see for yourself. Additionally, Rockwell isn't buying USR (I doubt they have the money), but 3Com is.
