I'm getting this error from my ethernet card, an SMC/WD8003 on an
installation of i386 NetBSD 1.2

ed0: NIC memory corrupt - invalid packet length 4608

I've seen references to this message in the archives of the netbsd
lists, but its usually considered insignificant, since it was only
happening at boot.

However for me, this message scrolls my screen constantly whenever I
bring the card up.

This card worked fine when I was running both Win95 and Slackware Linux,
so I know the card WORKS with my system. Win95 and Linux both auto-
detected the card. With NetBSD I'm left to configure it myself.

Has anyone at all had any success with this card? PLEASE help me out
here. With the amount of fruitless querying I've been doing lately it
would seem there's some don't-tell-Bob-about-the-8003 law in effect.
