FreeBSD 2.1.7 rock solid system for ,production machines' FreeBSD 2.2 [ the former -current ] latest and greatest, new drivers and features. Ok for home environment, developers and the ,impatient' ;-) Expect bugfixes and a later 2.2.1, which becomes ,stable' as 2.1.7 is. FreeBSD 3.0 is the new -current. > And how about 3.0 ? I've loaded up a few snapshots and it seems great. Is > there an estimated release date on that ? Well, if it works for you and you like it, get it ! But face the fact, that -current is a developer release, which might go into an unstable state from time to time, if big changes are merged into the source tree. Look at the FreeBSD Handbook, which describes that in detail.
