FreeBSD is a unix-based OS based on the Berkely Distribution sets of Unix
in the 1970's-80's(?). It differs from Linux because linux is unix-like,
whereas FreeBSD and NetBSD are all derived from the massive Unix operating
systems (ie the Corporate ones).

FreeBSD and NetBSD, imho, are commonly used in the non-commercial aspects
and are pretty much free at www.freebsd.org and www.netbsd.org
