I'm also using an ADAPTEC 1542B, with one 1.2 MB 5.25 drive attached. I'm running Julian Elischers scsibeta3 driver. But this problem also existed before. Sometimes - very spuriously - the floppy is seen by the autoconfig code. I also suspect that this behaviour has been introduced by the 'second drive' wd-patch which I also have in my kernel. I found this not-recognizing of the floppy annoying, too but had no time to deal with it. I have the problem on two different machines, one is running from wd (IDE) disk, the other from SCSI disk with no wd in it. -- --Chris Christoph P. U.
