I've been having this non existing floppy problem for months now and have
not yet tracked it down. I'm also using an ADAPTEC 1542B, with one 1.2 MB 5.25 drive attached. I'm running Julian Elischers scsibeta3 driver. But this problem
also existed before. Sometimes - very spuriously - the floppy is seen by
the autoconfig code. I also suspect that this behaviour has been introduced by the 'second drive' wd-patch which I also have in my kernel.

I found this not-recognizing of the floppy annoying, too but had no time to
deal with it. I have the problem on two different machines, one is running
from wd (IDE) disk, the other from SCSI disk with no wd in it.
