"man ruptime" says: Ruptime gives a status line like uptime for each machine on the local network; ... /var/rwho/whod.* data files If your machine is on a lokal net and you want this status information about the other machines then you have to create the appropriate files - I don't know the format, though. If you don't need this information and the message annoys you, you can edit /etc/daily and comment these lines out: if [ -d /var/rwho ] ; then ruptime fi (These lines are near the end of /etc/daily ).
