According to the web freeBSD hand book the kernel command is: controller matcd0 at isa ? port ? bio further, from these docs (and SB16 docs) I gather that if the SB16 port is 0x220 then the CD-ROM port is 0x230. I was fairly sure when I last checked the SB16 card that the CD port was set to 0x230 but I will check again. 2 other questions that arise : is an irq command required in this matcd0 line ? does sb0 have to be loaded and if so must it appear in the kernel before matcd0? Any pointers you may have and/or a copy of the kernel commands you use would be greatly appreciated. -- ********************************************************************* * Guy Bennett email : g.bennett@ic.ac.uk * * Imperial College of Sci, Tech. & Med. * * Mechanical Engineering PG Tel : +44-171-5947109 * * Exhibition Road +44-171-5947116 * * London, SW7 2BX * * U.K. * *********************************************************************
