In a private mail Mr. George Robbins suggested that this "local" option
were the one to start with, and I tried this too.
But the terminal still does NOT work, not even the slightest prompt to
be seen on the terminal. Only the "respawning too fast"-messages have
gone away.

And now I have checked the two serial ports of the machine and found both
of them to be okay. The next step is to check the ternminal, but I know it
to run flawlessly as terminal on an IBM/AIX workstation, up to 19200 Baud.


So, please, who can help?
