What is missing in Linux or in what respect do you think it is more immature? I have worked for years on SunOS 4.1.3 so I know somewhat BSDish systems and I run Linux at home since 3 years. The main difference I noticed is that GNU software often is bigger, more POSIXish and has lots of options. Also, newer Linux distributions have Sys V style initialization (/sbin/init.d, the concept of runlevels, rc<runlevel>.d, ...). It took me some time to get used to it, and now, while I still don't like it completely, I see it has advantages. > Too bad about NetBSD.. I really did like it. I run two Linux boxes and if I get some more disk space in the future I may well install FreeBSD or NetBSD on on of them. I also don't see which sense Linux/BSD bashing makes. Both systems work well. They are different because of their different roots and I like both for their peculiarities and philosophies. urs
