HP-UX is a SYSV variant much closer to Solaris than to Linux or BSD. There are many small differences in where config files are stored and syntax of command between Solaris and HP-UX. For example, the init.d stuff in HP-UX is in /usr/sbin/init.d. The named that comes with HP-UX doesn't use "in.named.reXXXX" rather you use the command "sig_named" with parms like "stop, reload, restart, kill" etc. Those are some of the differences that I noticed a few weeks ago when I had the chance to do some config/install on a HP-UX machine.
