Two references for ya:

First, for Linux word processing, check out LyX.  The homepage is:

As for making "Office for Linux," have a look at the KDE.  At the
moment, they're working on overall environment and interface stuff,
but they have ties to LyX, and to a drawing program called Colia.  No
one's working on a spreadsheet yet, though, so maybe you could do
that.  ;)  Anyway, check out their website at:
