Trying to ping/telnet/etc. router from the laptop --> it works now And should have done last time.... does this happen if you just ping with just IP numbers too ? It's possible that there's a DNS problem - unrelated to the routing issue. If you just use ping and IP numbers rather than machine names, step 6. should work first time. > > Any ideas? Can you "draw" what's going on (in ascii) ? ie. what are the IP numbers and netmasks of each machine. It may be that the laptop has an IP number that's part of the network that the other machines share - this should not work..... > > Marat -- Brian <brian@awfulhak.demon.co.uk> <brian@freebsd.org> <http://www.awfulhak.demon.co.uk> Don't _EVER_ lose your sense of humour !
