Not based on the information you're supplying.  Try including:

1) the domain name and IP/hostname of the nameserver you're trying to set up
so that someone can see what happens when a lookup attempt is made;

2) the command you're using to start up named;

3) any errors you see, when you see them, and any other circumstances you can
think of that surroud the errors.

With more info, someone can probably point out what the problem is.
