Over the weekend our BSD (2.0.1) machine
crashed. It did not allow log-ons so I was forced
to reboot.

At boot it said:

loading /boot ...

Then stopped. I was able to boot using floppies but when
I attempted to mount the hard drive I get:

device not configured

The disksetup utility also gives the same error.

I have a current backup of the system but I get "device
not configured" when I try to use restore -i. (Then again
there is nothing to restore to if I cannot mount the hard drive.)

Any suggestions?
