Meaning you need

    Protocol "PS/2"
    Device "/dev/psm0"

in the pointer section of /etc/XF86Config

Meaning you should have

    mousedtype=NO

in /etc/sysconfig :)

The PS/2 stuff seems pretty solid in 2.2 !
