This was suggested by Fred Gilham <gilham@csl.sri.com>. With half duplex I get 4.5Mega bytes/sec between two FreeBSD 2.2 machines. Fred also mentioned that perhaps the "de" driver in 2.2 is yet to handle full duplex fast ethernet. Here is an excerpt from Fred's message: --------------- Full-duplex was just recently added to the de driver. I think there might be a problem with getting it right in the driver. If you have a chance to make a change, you might want to try the Intel 10/100 cards. David Greenman (one of the FreeBSD core guys) claims that they work really well in full-duplex mode. I don't know because I don't have any around. ------------ -- Sohail Aslam Department of Computer Science, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Lahore, Pakistan tel: 92-42-572-2670 fax: 92-42-572-2591 email: aslam@lums.edu.pk
