I certainly wouldn't call it an insignificantly larger market.  Huge
numbers of people use Chinese, Japanese, and other languages whose
scripts don't fit in 8 bits, after all.  Whether it is worth the
effort to you is another matter, though; if you spend too much time
worrying about that sort of stuff, you'll never get anything written,
after all, and I'm certainly not going to say that
internationalization should be high on your list of priorities.  It
isn't on mine, after all; most of the programming that I do is for my
own benefit.
