I'm not sure - probably something to do with temporary routes.

Your network card has been put into promiscuous mode - ie it's
listening for all packets on the network. This is probably
because you're using the BPF or some such.

Sounds like a bad compile of NNTP (I've never used it, so I don't
know much about it). Have you "used the port" ?
