It *is* mentioned in <http://www.freebsd.com/handbook>, it's just not mentioned in *my* handbook (from the 2.1.7 cdrom). I've ftp'd the static binary, more or less followed instructions, and am now happily cvsup'ing to a test directory. I won't turn it loose on /usr/src until after I've run dump ;-) I did run into one gotcha though: it wouldn't recognize the tag RELENG_2_1_7_RELEASE, so I had to stick with RELENG_2_1_0. Cheers, Steve
