Yes. But the tool I was speaking of lets you find a version of a file
quickly, and keeps track on which tape you saved it.
There's one thing I do dislike of dump/restore: You must dump on a
filesystem basis (unlike tar, cpio, afio etc.).
So I need 4 tapes alone (or put 4 files after each other on one or
more tapes using nrst0 instead of rst0) for a full backup of /.
It would be really nice if I could just dump all my filesystems
together on a single tape, with a single command, without having to
keep track where I left /var or /usr.

That would be a good improvement. But I won't be convinced until I can
backup all filesystems in one run.
