X11 via the internet, across the pond, can be, umm, interesting ;) 300 bps is often a dream compared to a telnet from Canada to the UK... Having a home LAN (no, I'm not filthy rich, just good at making use of what others don't want), I've found the real value of X. There's nothing like it over ethernet!
