Gee, which is easier? rpm -i some-program.rpm If you're really lazy, you use Glint and click on the pretty pictures. Debian has simialar technology. Seems pretty easy to me. And unlike Windows, you don't have to reboot the machine because the program you just installed scribbled all over your boot files and system libraries. Which breaks three other programs that just happen to be from competitors. The "run some make commands" thing that you deride is actually a feature though. How many Windows programs come with source?
