First off, it was the Mac that made computing easier, way back when
(using ideas from Xerox PARC).  It wasn't until Windows 95 that Microsoft
caught up in any reasonable sense.  (Mac'ers who crow that Windows 95
== Mac 84 fail to mention that Mac 97 == Mac 84, pretty much -- there's
been no innovation lately from the Apple camp).

There's no reason Linux can't have configuration utilities as easy to
use as Windows 95 or the Mac.  It doesn't conflict with the underlying
OS, it's just a cleaner interface.  Instead of just bashing Microsoft
all the time (and yes, they deserve bashing), borrowing their better
ideas is something that should take place more often.
